Scope: The IT & Operations Support Specialist provides frontline technology and operational support to staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning of both IT systems and office operations. This role assists the IT Manager with helpdesk requests and technical troubleshooting, while also supporting the Operations team with process implementation, office setup, and hands-on facilities tasks.

This role is ideal for a technically savvy, hands-on problem solver who enjoys variety in their day — from troubleshooting staff IT issues to helping roll out a new workflow or assembling a desk. The IT & Operations Support Specialist is an essential team member who ensures staff have the tools, processes, and environment they need to thrive.

Qualifications and Experience:   

Required

·        1–3 years of IT helpdesk or technical support experience.

·        Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with hardware, software, and common office technologies.

·        Ability to lift and move items up to 30 lbs. as part of facilities support.

·        Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

·        Experience supporting process rollout or project coordination.

·        Nonprofit, mission-driven organization experience.

·        Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar productivity suites.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support (Approx. 50%)

·        Serve as the first point of contact for staff helpdesk requests (hardware, software, accounts, printers, connectivity, etc.).

·        Assist with workstation setup, configuration, and maintenance for new and existing employees.

·        Support the IT Manager with technology updates, inventory management, and user account administration.

·        Document IT support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.

·        Provide basic training and guidance to staff on software and technology tools.

Operations & Facilities Support (Approx. 50%)

·        Assist with rolling out and implementing organizational processes (e.g., new policies, workflows, compliance requirements).

·        Help communicate, track, and follow up on process adoption across staff and departments.

·        Assist with general office needs, including assembling furniture, hanging pictures, moving supplies, and setting up workstations.

·        Support coordination of operational projects, including vendor communications, deliveries, and office improvements.

·        Help maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment.

·        Provide logistical support for staff meetings, trainings, and events.
