Your new role
You will be responsible for overseeing the design, execution planning, and commissioning of Non-Process Infrastructures (NPI) for the new Windfall Project, which is in the pre-construction phase. This role will be accountable for the safe and effective delivery of scope areas such as:
• Onsite and offsite warehousing for the project and operations phase.
• Fuel farms and truck workshops.
• Fixed plant workshops.
• Office complexes and community engagement buildings.
• A new 600 room permanent camp, and associated infrastructure.
• Remediation of the existing exploration camp and potentially other off-site camps.
• Onsite road development and off-site road improvements and maintenance for the project phase.
The Area Manager – NPI role involves:
• Working with stakeholders to determine the long-term needs for NPI on the project.
• Managing engineering service providers and technical consultants for the provision of engineering designs that will meet the needs of the stakeholders.
• Overseeing the development of cost estimates for the delivery of the scope of work.
• Developing execution strategies and plans to successfully deliver the scope of the NPI in a safe and efficient manner.
• Managing the development of contracting strategies for service provision and equipment / material supplies.
• Oversee the development of commissioning and handover plans to ensure that the infrastructure is smoothly transitioned into the operation phase.
• Collaborating with the other project area managers to ensure that there is an integrated design and delivery for the operating asset.
• Working with the technical functions to ensure that the most efficient and effective designs are developed.
Additionally, you will develop and implement robust engineering, procurement, and construction strategies to achieve project goals and objectives. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and success of our infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
What you'll need to succeed
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or in a relevant discipline (project management qualifications highly regarded)
• Registered with the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ)
• 10+ years of experience in mining and project management
• Experience in planning, execution, and management of Non-Process Infrastructure projects within the mining sector
• Bilingual (able to communicate with clients and stakeholders in English and French)
• Leadership qualities to motivate and guide engineering, procurement and construction teams
• Collaborative skills to work with functions and other areas in scope delivery
• Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and evaluation
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting for performance assessment
