Reporting to the Mine Geology Superintendent, the Mine Exploration Coordinator actively participates in the development and renewal of mineral resources. In this capacity, he or she is responsible for generating and classifying exploration targets, planning and organizing drilling campaigns near the Windfall deposit (brownfields), and ensuring the technical coordination of exploratory drilling work in order to achieve the Company's objectives. He or she also contributes to the development of the medium- and long-term strategic plan, the company's business plan, and the annual budget. The incumbent coordinates the implementation of exploration work within the mining exploration division of the Windfall site, in collaboration with the various technical and operational teams. The incumbent will be required to work a hybrid schedule, teleworking from the Montreal office with regular visits to the Windfall site in the Eeyou East-James Bay region.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Design, plan, and coordinate exploration drilling programs for the development and renewal of resources at the Windfall mining project;
• Evaluate the potential of exploration targets at the mine and participate in their generation and prioritization;
• Monitor drilling results, geological interpretation, and evaluation of exploration targets;
• Establish and manage budgets and schedules for mine exploration projects;
• Work in collaboration with the regional resources and exploration team to implement a strategic resource renewal plan;
• Supervise the mine exploration team and contribute to its training and development;
• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with operations teams and the geology and engineering departments;
• Integrate geological information collected during drilling, collaborate on 3D geological modeling and update technical deliverables;
• Prepare monthly reports to management on the progress of work and results obtained;
• Contribute to the development and presentation of medium- and long-term mining plan strategies;
• Participate in the development and presentation of the business plan and annual budget exercises;
• Contribute to the drafting of technical reports for the Company;
• Maintain excellent relationships with Indigenous communities, the Company's business partners, and team members;
• Ensure that field work is carried out in accordance with operational guidelines and applicable laws and regulations;
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies and rules at all times and ensure that they are applied by staff;
• Perform any other related tasks relevant to the success of mining exploration work.
