Reporting to the Mine Captain, the Mine Supervisor will plan, coordinate, and supervise activities related to underground operations. They will ensure operational efficiency underground, with a constant focus on compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and will oversee the implementation of company policies and monitor activities as needed. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Northern Quebec region, they will be required to work an 8-day work/6-day vacation schedule. Transportation, accommodation, and meals will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Mine Captain in establishing and maintaining a quality team capable of meeting the company's requirements; • Be committed to the company culture and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and rules at all times, and ensure compliance with these rules by the personnel under his or her supervision;
• Supervise development teams and underground activities in all sectors;
• Apply the supervision formula and promote the proper use of the work card for all team members at all times;
• Record, report, and communicate the progress of underground activities;
• Ensure the transfer of information within his or her team and ensure the best possible communication at all times;
• Test work methods and practices to maximize the profitability and safety of the operation;
• Participate in the creation and implementation of underground work procedures;
• Lead and participate in meetings with employees (health, safety, environment, or other);
• Maintain and maintain healthy relationships within the team and with other departments;
• Be aware of safety issues and maintain a workplace based on mutual respect, fairness, and integrity;
• Report any situation that could affect the occupational health and safety of personnel or the physical integrity of the facilities;
• Comply at all times with health, safety, and environmental policies and rules and ensure compliance by all personnel;
• Perform any other tasks related to the mine supervisor position that are relevant to the success of the project.

Required Qualifications

• Hold a college diploma in mining technology or a vocational diploma in mineral extraction; or other program deemed equivalent;
• Have a minimum of (5) years of experience in the underground mining field;
• Have a minimum of (3) years of supervisory experience;
• Experience working with First Nations (an asset);
• Bilingualism (French and English) (an asset). May be required to supervise employees of English-speaking First Nations;
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license;
• Hold an explosives permit;
• Hold modular training for mining workers 1 to 7 and 10.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations specific to mines, as well as mining and ground control methods;
• Knowledge of the equipment and materials to be used in mines;
• Knowledge of supervision formulas;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Have good adaptability and be open to changes and constructive feedback;
• Have good organizational skills and a good ability to recognize priorities;

• Demonstrate rigor in matters of occupational health and safety.
