We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Meter Technicians to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area, where you will play a critical role in supporting Rodan’s industry-leading energy solutions and advancing the clean energy transition. As a Meter Technician, you will bring your expertise in electrical and metering systems to install, test, and maintain retail and wholesale metering and energy management systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This role is ideal for an experienced technician with a background in power systems, metering, and energy management who is passionate about contributing to a cleaner energy future and enjoys managing projects independently and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical services in the areas of electrical systems, metering, power systems and energy management services
  • Install, test, and commission retail and wholesale metering systems
  • Complete all types of maintenance work on retail and wholesale metering installations
  • Able to manage projects with minimal supervision to completion
  • Perform design, configuration, installation, and on-site configuration and maintenance of metering, SCADA and energy management systems, including hardware, software, communications and end-user training
  • Enforce safe work procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain client communications, safety and work documentation
  • Ensure Rodan meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal, provincial and local regulations


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related technical field (e.g. electrical engineering, electrical technician/technologist) or other relevant work experience
  • Completed or working towards Journeyperson Meter Technician Certification or equivalent
  • Background in electrical power distribution, metering, protection and control or electrical systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively complete tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
  • A valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License, driver’s insurance and an excellent driving record
  • Knowledge of and experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office

  • First Aid & CPR certificates and knowledge of EUSA and the OHSA are assets
