Your Role

The Marketing Strategy Advisor plays an integral role as a key contributor to the dynamic and progressive Marketing and Communication Team at the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC). This marketing champion is passionate and excited about marketing strategy, branding, design and technology and stays on top of current trends. Specializing in creating compelling strategic marketing plans, this contributor applies creative methods to communicate concepts, ideas & solutions bringing RRC brands to life through the execution of sport, entertainment & recreation related marketing programs. In tune with audience demographics, this role provides direct leadership and guidance on developing and delivering timely, effective and engaging marketing campaigns and initiatives.

 Your Impact

Lead and guide the development of marketing strategies that promote the RRC’s strategic priorities, vision & mission

Lead tasks related to marketing, and provide support for communication, digital media, data management, event coordination, project management, & sales

Translate marketing strategies into creative direction for digital & print media content

Collaborate with internal clients; act as primary point person on campaigns

Guide the development of strategies based on consumer insights

Work to develop an understanding of consumer demographics and translate these into effective marketing strategies

Utilize multiple channels to deliver marketing strategies and achieve identified goals

Proactively ensure brand standards are adhered to

Contribute to strategies that accelerate growth of the RRC social media program

Assist with the email marketing program

Manage CMS & advertising systems

Ensure content creation, production & execution timelines are met

Monitor progress of projects & provide continuous communication to the team regarding on-going project status updates

Interact with web developers, graphic designers, photographers, vendors & suppliers to complete collateral projects

Other duties as assigned.

Your Accomplishments

High School Diploma or GED Equivalency

A background in marketing and communication developed through a combination of education & experience

Completion of a degree or diploma in a related field

Experience with digital ad networks

Demonstrated ability to drive for product leadership with an entrepreneurial style

Clear communicator with exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Ability to interpret and convey diverse types of information: financial, marketing, design, development

Understanding of current marketing trends and ability to adapt these to achieve identified goals

Motivated by deadlines & skilled with bringing projects to successful completion

Works independently as well as collaboratively while taking direction from others

Employs best practices & values that govern work in marketing, sales and creative services

Experience in entertainment &/or recreation industry

Fluent with Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop

Knowledge of composition techniques alongside basic photography & videography skills

Working knowledge of Content Management Systems

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Working Conditions

Approximately 40 hours per week with flexibility of a varied work schedule. Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Work primarily indoors in a standard office environment, with some outdoor event coverage or promotion.

Work requires sedentary work in a climate-controlled office environment using standard office equipment and occasional travel and meetings off site. Office environment can be busy with frequent interruptions and regular meetings with external and internal stakeholders.

This position may include heavy lifting of supplies and equipment up to 40 lbs.
