What You’ll Do
You will support building operations and maintenance while working closely with the Building Operator and site team.
• Perform general maintenance and repair work in residential units and common areas
• Complete repairs related to plumbing, appliances, drywall, painting, lighting, and minor electrical components
• Assist with minor carpentry work including cabinetry, doors, fixtures, and interior components
• Conduct flooring repairs and replacements including laminate, tile, and vinyl where required
• Support monitoring and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
• Conduct routine checks of boilers, furnaces, hot water tanks, and heating systems, escalating issues as needed
• Manage and complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate clearly with residents regarding maintenance issues and timelines
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including turnover maintenance and inspections
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist with regular inspections of building systems and equipment
• Coordinate with external contractors and support access to the property as required
• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and documentation
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to emergency maintenance issues
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
What You Bring
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fourth or Fifth Class Power Engineering certificate required
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and general maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with property teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to resident satisfaction
• Attention to detail with a strong focus on safety and compliance
Requirements
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation may be required
• Basic hand tools required for the role
• Ability to lift materials, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance tasks
