We are looking for Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. We are looking for a strong Project Manager who has extensive knowledge of the building industry; the ability to provide a high level of customer service; and who can lead, direct and coordinate the daily management of all assigned project(s). This position is a leadership role, and you will be accountable for the overall performance of the project, including costs, schedules, quality, project status, and adherence to Company policies and procedures. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for:
• Planning, scheduling, and controlling activities, in conjunction with the Project Team, during the construction phase of assigned project(s).
• Administration and management of prime contract and subcontracts including negotiating and awarding of subcontracts for scopes of work, as well as review and evaluation of subcontractor performance.
• Managing, reviewing and analyzing the budget and costs for each project.
• Creating and adhering to construction schedules.
• Fostering and maintaining positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors.
• Other duties/tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A minimum of 7-10 years of building industry experience.
• A university degree in a construction-related discipline as well as demonstrated, progressive experience in General Contracting.
• Experience running multiple, concurrent projects and working on projects in remote communities would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality and administration.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Willingness to travel and work with Northern Communities.
