We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team based in Saskatoon. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, values safety, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty equipment (e.g., loaders, excavators, trucks, and other diesel-powered machinery)
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
  • Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and operators regarding equipment status.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with a variety of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Class 5 minimum; Class 1A/3A considered an asset).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Working Conditions

  • Shop and field work may be required.
