- Day: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Evening: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Night: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

As a Health Care Aide at McQueen Residence, you will play an integral role in ensuring residents' well-being, comfort, and dignity while contributing to a nurturing home environment.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Support
- Daily Living Assistance: Aid residents with personal tasks, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
- Mobility Support: Assist with transfers, including helping individuals safely move in and out of bed.
- Medication Support: Provide medication assistance as outlined in each resident’s care plan and follow medication administration records (MAR).
- Emotional Engagement: Foster meaningful interactions by engaging with residents through reading, conversation, and active listening to promote emotional well-being.
Household Duties
- Meal Preparation: While a full-time cook is on staff, you may assist with preparing light meals and snacks, especially on weekends.
- Household Tasks: Complete light chores such as making beds, laundry, and general tidying to enhance residents’ comfort.
Team and Facility Support
- Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document and report any incidents, health changes, or care updates to ensure high-quality care and compliance.
- Resident Monitoring: Continuously observe residents’ well-being, reporting any health concerns or changes to ensure proactive support.
Qualifications
- Certification: Alberta Health Care Aide certification, along with enrollment in the Alberta HCA Directory.
- First Aid and CPR: Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications are required.
- Clearance Checks: Provide a recent Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Experience: While experience in a residential or group home setting is an asset, it is not mandatory.
