Surintendant(e) achats et entrepôts / Procurement and warehouse superintendent
Reporting to the supply manager, the procurement and warehouse superintendent will manage procurement and warehousing for the site's daily operations, supervise inventory management activities and oversee the codification of equipment. He/she will work closely with his/her immediate superior to define and implement various procurement strategies. Based at the Windfall site in the Nord-du-Québec region, he/she will work a schedule of 4 days on followed by 3 days off. Transportation, accommodation and meals provided.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act at all times as a leader in safety, the environment and community relations in order to help achieve the highest standards;
- Comply at all times with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and regulations and ensure that staff comply with these rules;
- Manage the department's human, material and financial resources;
- Developing procurement service strategies and standards and ensuring their proper application by the entire team under their supervision;
- Applying best practices in the acquisition of goods and services for day-to-day purchasing;
- Coordinating the day-to-day activities of the supply chain for on-site operations;
- Maintaining good relations with all departments;
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with other departments;
- Monitor, improve and implement key performance indicators;
- Ensure SOX compliance for all procurement-related matters;
- Ensure good relations with stakeholders are maintained;
- Establish inventory management objectives, strategies and targets;
- Develop team members;
- Analyze and optimize transportation logistics;
- Plan labor requirements and participate in employee recruitment;
- Conduct performance evaluations of staff under their responsibility;
- Give presentations to senior management or other stakeholders;
- Represent the organization at events;
- Perform any other tasks related to the position of procurement and warehouse superintendent that are relevant to the success of the project.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College (DEC) or university (BAC) degree in administration or accounting;
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in procurement;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supervision;
- Experience in the mining industry;
- Experience working with First Nations (an asset);
- Valid class 5 driver's license.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Bilingualism in English and French (will have to communicate with English-speaking contractors and suppliers);
- Excellent knowledge of the mining industry, supply chain management and budget management;
- Good knowledge of SOX audit management, inventory management and parts coding;
- Ability to make presentations to different stakeholders;
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of SAP software (an asset).
