Senior Cultivation Manager

Role Overview:
The Senior Cultivation Manager, is a leadership role at the intersection of science, systems, and strategy. This role leads the scientific and analytical functions of cultivation while working closely with the production team to translate data into high-performance outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in leading the Delta cultivation team in executing our organic cultivation plan. You are an experienced cultivation professional with deep knowledge of organic greenhouse growing, a passion for experimentation, and a drive for continuous improvement. You will lead data collection and interpretation, environmental optimization, and strategic planning to ensure our practices stay ahead of the curve while coaching others to do the same.
Key Responsibilities:
Organic Growing Leadership:
Provide guidance to the production team on implementing and optimizing learnings from new scientific trials and current organic growing techniques.
Provide analysis and research support to help our Director of Cultivation optimize our cultivation techniques, including IPM, climate, nutrition, irrigation, light, CO2, and other critical grow strategies.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in organic cultivation methodologies and integrate best practices into our processes.
Data-Driven Insights and Scientific Trials:
Develop and implement data collection systems to monitor and analyze key cultivation metrics.
Utilize crop and climate analysis to provide insights for data driven decision-making, optimized cultivation processes, and further areas for improvement.
Climate and Environment Control:
Oversee and optimize climate control systems to create an ideal environment for cannabis cultivation.
Educate and coach the climate technician in the management of PRIVA and the HVAC integration
Research, refine, and recommend strategies for maintaining consistent and optimal conditions within cultivation facilities based on evolving knowledge and data.
Nutrition Management:
Develop and recommend nutrient programs tailored to the specific needs of organic cannabis plants.
Ability to analyze various plant health analyses to improve crop performance
Support the production team to deliver nutrient and monitor plant health to maximize yields, quality and potency.
Irrigation Systems:
Support the Production Team to enable them to leverage PRIVA to optimize irrigation systems for efficient water usage and nutrient delivery as dictated by our grow strategy.
Recommend innovative irrigation techniques to enhance crop health and productivity.
Integrated Pest Management
Sound understanding of integrated pest management in cannabis
Works with the IPM specialist to drive preventative strategies and improve crop health
Working knowledge of PMRA regulations and pesticide application regulations in BC
Research and Development:
Initiate and oversee trials of new cultivation techniques, technologies, and equipment to improve future grows.
Oversee new genetic trials to support and inform the decision-making process for new genetics.
Collaborate with the research and development team to contribute to the company's thought leadership in the cannabis industry.
Operations Management:
Support budgeting and forecasting for the Delta cultivation site.
Partner with the Cultivation Labor Manager to improve labor planning and accuracy.
Identify efficiency opportunities and implement solutions that optimize time, costs, and outputs.
People Leadership:
Coach and mentor team members from individual contributors to managers.
Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 10years of experience in a senior cultivation role, ideally within the cannabis industry.
In-depth knowledge of organic growing techniques for cannabis.
Strong background in data analysis and a proven ability to apply insights to improve cultivation outcomes.
Familiarity with scientific methodologies related to cannabis cultivation.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
