About the Role
The Marine & Facilities Manager at Moutcha Bay Resort is a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing maintenance, marina operations, fleet management, guided fishing coordination, fish processing, campground, and groundskeeping departments.
This role ensures the safe, reliable, and high-quality functioning of all marine services, resort infrastructure, vessels, and outdoor amenities. Working closely with the Resort Manager and Hospitality & Services Manager, the Marine & Facilities Manager drives operational excellence, regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and exceptional guest experiences.
When assigned as Manager on Duty, this role assumes full responsibility for the overall resort operation.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee all marine, maintenance, fleet, fish processing, campground, and grounds operations to ensure seamless daily performance.
· Lead marina services including docks, fueling operations, moorage assignments, and rental fleet readiness.
· Ensure all vessels, equipment, docks, buildings, power systems, and water systems are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
· Develop and implement daily, weekly, and seasonal work plans, including winter repairs and seasonal readiness.
· Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, WorkSafeBC, DFO, CCG, food safety, and environmental regulations.
· Lead and support supervisors across departments through coaching, scheduling, training, and performance management.
· Manage departmental budgets, inventory systems, purchasing, payroll oversight, and cost-control initiatives.
· Conduct regular safety inspections, emergency drills, and lead the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee.
· Monitor resort systems, respond to emergencies, and provide leadership during marine or environmental incidents.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives, asset management planning, and long-term operational enhancements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Hospitality mindset.
- 3–5 years of experience in marine, or outdoor operations management.
- Supervisory experience leading technical, marine, or maintenance teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a safety-focused, compliance-driven environment.
- Experience with marina operations, fuel systems, or fleet management.
Preferred:
- Experience managing remote fishing lodges or wilderness resorts.
- Knowledge of west coast saltwater fishing operations.
