Housekeeper - Full Time

As a Housekeeper, you are responsible for assisting with providing a welcoming environment for our residents, employee care partners, and visitors by ensuring our community is clean and cared for. 


Summary Statement:

The Housekeeper is responsible for providing housekeeping and laundry services to residents and the Community. The Housekeeper provides a variety of cleaning duties on a scheduled basis and maintains inventory of required supplies.

Key Responsibility Areas (% Range of Focus):

Housekeeping Duties: 50%-60%

  • Performs routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning bathrooms, making beds, and cleaning common areas
  • Coordinates and assists if required in the Move In/Move Out /Orientation process for Residents
  • Empties all waste receptacles and deposits waste in disposal bins
  • Inspects all rooms to ensure cleaning standards are upheld
  • Notifies superiors of any property damages, deficits, and disturbances
  • Conduct random ongoing audits to maintain compliance

 

Resident Support: 25%-35%

  • Provides services in accordance with best practices, our Well-Being Strategies, quality improvement guidelines, and regulations/standards
  • Reports and responds to concerns/issues as they relate to services within the Community
  • Engages in meaningful conversations with Residents and their loved ones

 

Inventory Management: 15%-20%

  • Verifies inventory levels of all consumables and communicates to supervisor as required
  • Refills supply of hand sanitizers, paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and deodorizers in the washroom

 

Training and Support: 10%-15%

  • Actively participating in Community Learning Circles, meetings and events
  • Collaborate with the team, including but not limited to management, families, and employee care partners to facilitate the highest level of housekeeping service for the Resident

 

Health & Safety: 5%-10%

  • Provides a safe and sanitary environment for all Care Partners and makes every effort to reduce safety hazards, accidents and injuries
  • Understands and participates in the Emergency Management Plan, Infection Control protocol, WHMIS, and Health & Safety Wellness Strategies.

  • Performs a variety of other projects and assignments as required.

 

Qualifications:

Education

  • Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.


Experience

  • Experience in housekeeping services preferred

Certificate

  • WHMIS

 Working Conditions:
  • The ability to move freely about, lift, or push up to 50 lbs., and frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending, and standing.
  • Work in stressful and potentially emotionally charged situations.
  • There is a potential for injury and exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases.
