Forma Steel - Senior Estimator

Forma Steel specializes in manufacturing high-quality steel roofing, siding, trim, and custom panels in a wide range of gauges, colors, and finishes. We manufacture our product in Fort Macleod, AB, approximately 25 minutes West of Lethbridge.

We are looking to bring in another fantastic team member to join our new world class facility in Fort Macleod!

Role: Senior Estimator

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

·       Cultivate strong product knowledge as well as knowledge of the client’s business and end use of Forma Steel products.

·       Provide accurate analysis and information from customer project drawings & specifications.

·       Act as a technical resource in advising clients on their building envelope.

·       Utilize creative and innovative inside sales techniques to increase sales volume, which will give opportunity for product conversion and value-added components.

·       Collaborate with the outside sales team and sales administration team to execute business with new and existing clients.

·       Visit client sites throughout the calendar year to ensure strong client service presence.

·       Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop precise cost estimates.

Key Requirements:

·       Minimum 2 years in construction or building materials industry

·       Sales education or background is an asset

·       Prior experience in estimating projects in a take-off project environment

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Experience with ERP systems, or similar programs.

·       Demonstrated ability to interpret scope of work, project drawings & specifications, proposals, and other documentation.

·       Excellent analytical skills regarding extrapolating data from drawings and providing customer solutions.

·       High level of organizational skills, with a strong ability to track, manage, and follow through on details and manage time effectively.

·       Open to learning and adaptable to growth.

·       Ability to problem solve, assess needs, and develop solutions for customer.

Previous experience in a project management, Construction Coordination, or estimating role would be considered an asset
