Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Project Manager to
oversee complex, large-scale software projects for some of our enterprise oil
& gas clients. This individual will serve as a key point of contact between
our customers and internal teams, including Development, QA/QC, and Leadership,
to ensure successful delivery of high-impact initiatives.
As we bring on new enterprise clients, we require someone
with strong communication, organization, and cross-functional leadership
skills. You will coordinate timelines, manage expectations, drive stakeholder
alignment, and ensure project milestones are met. Experience working within or
supporting the energy sector is highly valuable.
Location
This is an onsite position located at our head office in NW Calgary.
What You’ll Do
- Lead internal software development projects from planning through release, coordinating with Development, QA/QC, GIS/Data, and Product.
- Ensure internal project milestones and delivery timelines are met, escalating risks and removing blockers.
- Work with internal stakeholders to translate client requirements into clear technical scope and actionable development tasks.
- Support enterprise client projects by contributing to scoping discussions, providing status updates, and ensuring internal alignment.
- Create and maintain internal project plans, schedules, roadmaps, and communication pathways across teams.
- Anticipate issues or roadblocks and proactively drive solution to keep projects on track.
- Ensure new enterprise clients are properly onboarded internally, setting up timelines, processes, and team responsibilities.
- Ensure projects adhere to AbaData quality standards and meet client contractual requirements.
What we’re looking for
- Degree or diploma in business administration, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in project management, project coordination, or related roles
- 3+ years of software project management experience in a technology company or closely related environment
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise projects
- Strong understanding of software development processes
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and client-relationship skills
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
