Hospitality Aide
Reporting to the Assisted Living Manager, Hospitality Aide is responsible for assisting staff with light housekeeping duties, food services and recreation activities.
Days/Hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Other shifts as they are available
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure knowledge of current Provincial Health Orders and policies/procedures
- Ensure adequate PPE supplies are available and restocked, and report to the Manager when supplies are low
- Ensure all persons entering the facility know the sign-in/out procedure
- Responsible for daily light housekeeping, laundry, vacuuming and sanitization of high-touch areas
- Perform monthly hand hygiene audits
- Assist with phone calls, break coverage and administrative tasks
- Interact with families, residents and visitors
- Observes residents and reports unsafe conditions and noticeable behavioral, physical and or cognitive changes to the Manager.
- Alert Manager of any health and safety, security or other concerns
- Support cook with daily food service and clean up
- Deliver recreational activities with residents, both one-to-one and in groups, in collaboration with the Recreation Coordinator
- Encourage participation and maintain optimum resident involvement by gathering residents for activities.
- Sets up and organizes furnishings and equipment for activities, and does related cleanup.
- Report low engagement for activities to the recreation coordinator
- Evaluate and maintain supplies, and report any malfunctioning of equipment to the Manager or recreation coordinator
- Participates in the Resident Council Meetings, Dining Room Committee, and other meetings or events at the facility
- Promotes and maintains positive communication with the residents and staff
- Support volunteers with recreation activities
- Assist the Manager with the visiting processes
- Attend staff training, information sessions and meetings as required.
- Understand and perform safety and security procedures
- Respond and perform First Aid as required
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Standard First Aid and CPR
- Food Safe Level 1
- Experience working front-line with seniors and a vulnerable population
