Department Overview:
This division is responsible for the year-round and seasonal catered events, restaurants, concessions, kitchens and group sales. It employs a variety of trades on a year-round basis, including chefs, cooks, dishwashers, servers, bakers, event planners and housekeepers/porters.
Job Overview:
The Expo Dining Services position entails overseeing all aspects of food service operations at expos. Responsibilities include setup, cleanliness, and stock management of expo lines, while ensuring efficient service delivery and upholding food quality and safety standards. Additionally, the role involves coordinating logistics, managing inventory, and delivering excellent customer service to attendees.
Responsibilities:
Operational Support
- Manage the setup, cleanliness, and organization of expo dining areas, including food stations, beverage stations, and dining spaces
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area, adhering to Alberta Health Services (AHS) standards to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for guests
- Organize the inventory for expo dining services and fridge, including monitoring levels, replenishing supplies, and managing waste
- Perform housekeeping tasks and report property damage or unsafe conditions
- Facilitate effective delegation and communication between front-line staff and the kitchen
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of High School is preferred
- Previous experience working at an expo line is required
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices, with a commitment to upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently as well as a team
- Good attention to detail, organizational skills and efficiency are essential
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-faced setting
- All successful candidates (over the age of 18) will be required to go through Police Information Check as a condition of employment.
Special Clothing and Equipment:
- Appropriate costuming, uniform and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
- Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.
Special Working Conditions:
- The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors; and
- This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods
Hours of Work:
- The hours for this position vary based on operational requirements, but up to 40 hours per week are available;
- The schedule will generally be five consecutive days per week with working Saturdays and Sundays
