 Position: Service Manager

 Job Summary: As a Service Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage service operations within the store, ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction. By optimizing Service Department processes, growing profitable service labor sales, and effectively engaging department personnel, you will contribute to maximizing return on investment while attracting and retaining outstanding talent.  Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Satisfaction: Develop and implement practices that provide for above-average customer satisfaction for service department customers. Implement means of measuring customer satisfaction and make changes as necessary to provide necessary levels of customer service.

·        Financial management: Understand how to read your department’s financial statement, ability to make decisions that lead to hitting the company’s financial expectations and service department metrics.

  • Goal Setting and Budgeting: Create annual Service Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Marketing and Revenue Growth: Develop and execute the Service Department marketing plan and monitor monthly to ensure sustained revenue growth and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Event Coordination: Work with the aftermarket management team to coordinate customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events. Identify and develop new customer and business opportunities to achieve department growth.
  • Warranty and Claims Management: Assure timely completion and submission of all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit.
  • Personnel Management: Analyze the needs of the department and develop a long-term continuous plan to ensure that we have the necessary personnel to meet the needs of the department. Recruit, hire, develop, and retain key talent to meet these needs.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement an effective training program for all department staff members that meet the goals of the organization.
  • Performance Management: Effectively manage and develop the service team through effective performance management processes done on an annual basis.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure that proper safety and security processes are in place to create a proper work environment. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and housekeeping that exhibits a high degree of professionalism.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all department tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order.

 Qualifications:

·       Education: A Journeyperson trade certification is required, with a preference for red or blue seal certification.

·       Experience: At least 5 years of experience in service management or leadership role, supervising others. Experience in the agricultural or turf equipment industry is preferred.

·       Skills: Proven ability to build relationships with employees, strong communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products, and the ability to read financial statements are considered assets.

·       License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is required.
