Guest Services Representative

POSITION SUMMARY

Meet, greet and assist guests, answer inquires and provided solutions to concerns. Sell products and services Snow Valley Ski Club offers. 18+

We are looking for 1 full time employee to work the following hours for this season: 

Sunday 8:30 am - 5:15 pm
Monday 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
Tuesday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm 
Wednesday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Maintain a constant and efficient flow of guests through the Guest Services counter, while providing fast, courteous and friendly service.  
  2. Develop guest relations by generating conversation, answering questions and offering assistance when required.  
  3. Provide quality customer service to guests in all aspects of Snow Valley with a focus on providing the best possible guest experience. 
  4. Offer guidance in the selection of services that best meet the guest's needs.
  5. Answer telephones; respond to e-mail; direct inquiries; greet guests and provide them with general information; and refer guests to appropriate individual/department for further assistance. 
  6. Respond to guest inquiries; process requests and provide confirmation to guests. 
  7. Maintain individual guest information on computerized database. 
  8. Accept and process payment for products and services.
  9. Manage daily cash flows - balancing daily cash outs, inventory tracking and pulling appropriate reports.
  10. Ensure the Guest Services space is clean and organized to ensure a high standard of guest experience.
  11. Ensure all rules and regulations are followed in a consistent manner.
  12. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when dealing with staff, colleagues and guests.   Handle all inquiries and complaints in a professional and competent manner, applying a win-win attitude.
  13. Understand and function within all Snow Valley policies and procedures.  Make suggestions to improve work processes and policies.
  14. Be informed of promotional & special events, as well as corporate & group functions, in order to provide accurate information to guests.
  15. We are a team at Snow Valley and as a member of that team, you may be asked to assist other departments or you may draw upon help from other staff members to help you achieve your goals.  
  16. Perform other responsibilities when required as directed by the Guest Services Manager &/or Supervisor.

  • Excellent organizational skills to deal with the administration functions of the position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position is seasonal and includes working on weekends, weeknights and holidays.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • May lift, push, pull or carry items weighing up to 24 pounds on an occasional basis.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

There are no standard educational requirements for this position as most training is completed on the job, although a high school diploma is preferred. Cash handling experience is required.   Those who have post-secondary education have a greater opportunity to advance to a supervisory level.

HEALTH & SAFETY HAZARDS

Identified health and safety hazards associated with this position include: musculoskeletal strains from desk work and extended periods of standing, eye strain from computer work, strain from lifting, cuts, slipping, tripping, robbery and exposure to noise.
