The Board of Directors at Hillside Pines is seeking a Chief Executive Officer.

Hillside Pines is in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Currently, a 50-person licensed long-term care facility with exciting plans to build a new facility, increasing to a 96-person licensed facility. Hillside Pines practices the Eden Philosophy of Care and as such, the successful candidate must have a commitment and passion for person directed care.

They are accountable and directly responsible to the Board of Directors of Hillside Pines. They have the authority, responsibility, and accountability to carry out assigned duties to direct the overall operation of the Home.

The Chief Executive Officer must have:

  • Working knowledge of the Eden Philosophy of Care (which incorporates Hillside Pines’ Mission, vision and values and the commitment to the ongoing vision of being the best place to live and work.

  •      Demonstrated self-starter, organized and able to set priorities and capable of working under the general direction of the Board.

  • A Baccalaureate in Health administration or equivalent degree with at least 5 years of progressive management experience.
  • In addition, the position requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written, strong organizational skills, demonstrated leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to build teams and coach care partners.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning at the strategic and operational levels and an ability to engage care partners, stakeholders, and partners in the pursuit and realization of established goals and objectives. 
  • The ability to develop a culture where employees are encouraged and supported in utilizing their creativity and talents to the fullest.
  •  Knowledge of the healthcare sector in Nova Scotia and the ability to work within a complex operational and funding environment are also important.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Experience working with a new build of a LTC facility an asset.
