BASIC FUNCTION

 

The Slipaway shuttle driver provides transportation for guests and employees, ensuring timely and safe arrivals and departures along a set route or on-demand. In addition to driving, this position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to act as a Slipaway ambassador, answering guest questions and providing a positive first and last impression. A Slipaway shuttle driver is responsible for safely and courteously transporting guests between Slipaway properties, remote parking lot and other designated destinations. As a highly visible member of the guest services staff, the driver provides excellent customer service, assists guests, and maintains the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

 

a)         Reports to:      Guest Service Manager and Supervisor

 

b)         Supervises:     N/A

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guest transportation: Safely transport guests and employees to and from designated locations in a timely manner. This includes trips within the Slipaway, to remote parking lot and other designated locations
  • Customer service: Greet guests warmly, assist with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
  • Guest information: Answer questions about Slipaway’s facilities, services, and local points of interest. Make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Vehicle maintenance and safety:
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking tires, fluids, and fuel levels.
    • Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, both inside and out, at all times.
    • Report any vehicle damage, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to management immediately.
    • Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Operational communication: Communicate with the guest service team, and other drivers via radio to coordinate schedules, report delays, and respond to guest requests.
  • Administrative tasks: Maintain accurate records of trips, including passenger counts and mileage. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement may be required, depending on the size of the vehicle.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy luggage, up to 50 lbs., and sit or stand for long periods.

  • Knowledgeable: Becomes familiar with the Slipaway and local area to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Reliable and punctual: Ensures timely pickups and drop-offs to maintain schedule efficiency.
