Southampton Care Centre is a fully accredited long term care home in Southampton, Ontario and serves 88 residents. Southampton is a lakeside community on Lake Huron, known for its white sand beaches, historic downtown, and cultural arts scene. Situated at the mouth of the Saugeen River and approximately 49 km south of Owen Sound, it provides a peaceful atmosphere for residents and visitors alike, with diverse dining options, local shops, and activities suited for beach-goers and art enthusiasts.
Join our team as a Restorative Care Aide!
Under the direction of the Restorative Care Coordinator, the Restorative Care Aide will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of restorative care services.
This role involves providing comprehensive resident care and rehabilitation support, with a strong focus on promoting resident independence and safety. Key responsibilities include direct resident care (ADLs, mobility, feeding), assessing and addressing restorative care needs, executing therapy programs (Physio, OT, Speech), and meticulously documenting resident status and progress. The role also requires strict adherence to safety and OHSA guidelines, active participation in CQI and Risk Management, effective interdisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing education.
We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:
Successful completion of training program in restorative care, or are enrolled in such a program; or
Have successfully completed a relevant training course provided by the licensee that is designed and supervised by a qualified therapist who is a member of the appropriate college of a regulated health professional as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 79 and Ontario Regulation 67/22 (2).
Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
Must be flexible, innovative and creative
Experience in geriatric rehabilitation or Long Term Care (Gerontology) is an asset.
Must be computer literate
