Asset Management Specialist
Dawson Group is looking for a looking for an Asset Management Specialist to plan, coordinate, and direct, the life cycle management of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs, and equipment tracking and utilization.
In this role you will be a valued member of the Dawson Group, working in a permanent, full-time position of Asset Management Specialist, reporting to the Director, Supply Chain. The position acts as a technical advisor on all equipment issues and assists the operations team with equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
• Responsible for creating, implementing and managing a long-term asset management strategy
• Implement an electronic management system and coordinate equipment replacement strategies
• Conduct equipment procurement and disposal
• Oversee location and movement of equipment between business units
• Monitor asset performance, including lifecycle and utilization, to ensure maximum efficiency and ROI.
• Works in conjunction with Equipment Maintenance Managers and Superintendents to align asset planning with overall business objectives
• Analyze asset data and trends to forecast future asset needs and requirements.
• Monitor and manage equipment operating costs
• Prepare and manage budgets for asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposal.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and prepare financial reports related to asset management.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce expenses.
• Consult and collaborate with stakeholders regarding procurement strategy for equipment
• Collaborates with relevant stakeholders on purchase, rental, or lease decisions
WHAT YOU BRING
• Related University degree or College diploma, Red Seal Trade Certificate; and
• Minimum of 5 years asset or material management experience preferably in the equipment rental industry or construction equipment industry; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Proven experience in asset management, planning, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, construction equipment service department operational procedures and processes
• Knowledge if safety standards and practices in a shop environment
• Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Office, asset management software and other relevant ERP applications
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
