POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of Snow Valley’s marketing and communications activities across our multiple brands and touchpoints. This hands-on role contributes to: digital content creation, web maintenance & updates, social media management, community engagement (on-site, off-site, and online), event support, design production, partnership activations, and internal communications.

The successful candidate will be an organized, creative, energetic, adaptable, and detail-oriented person who is comfortable working in a dynamic, seasonal environment. Success in this position requires effective collaboration across departments and regular interaction with guests, partners, and the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Planning & Coordination

·         Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual marketing and communications plan.

·         Coordinate marketing initiatives and advertising activities, including research, planning, delivery, and reporting.

Digital Marketing & Online Presence

·         Conduct regular audits on, and perform updates to, Snow Valley’s digital channels, including the website, social media platforms, and email newsletters to ensure accurate, timely information.

·         Manage all Snow Valley social media assets, including planning and posting relevant, engaging communications, and monitoring all comments and messages.

·         Use products like Google & Meta ads to support paid marketing initiatives; assist with digital analytics reporting to evaluate performance and optimize results

Creative Production & Content Creation

·         Design and prepare a wide range of marketing materials such as posters, brochures, signage, maps, blogs & articles, advertisements, and other physical and digital assets.

·         Capture photographs and short-form videos of Snow Valley facilities, programs, events, and staff.

·         Update digital screens and onsite signage; ensure brand consistency across all creative assets.

Partnerships, Promotions, External Relations, and Events

·         Support partner and sponsor activations, including planning, communication, logistics, and on-site execution.

·         Build rapport with mountain resorts, recreation partners, advertisers, sponsors, and local other businesses to support joint promotions and develop further relations.

·         Coordinate, develop, and support Snow Valley events and seasonal programs; assisting with registration, setup, logistics, guest engagement, promotions, and photography.

·         Participate in off-site tradeshows, booths, and community events.

·         Administer surveys or feedback tools contribute to post-event documentation and evaluation.

Internal Collaboration & Communication

·         Work collaboratively with department leads to understand and support their marketing needs.

·         Support internal communications by preparing the weekly internal calendar, producing the staff e-newsletter, and helping deliver the employee recognition program.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Manager.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required

·         Very strong writing, editing, and overall communication skills with attention to accuracy and clarity.

·         Experience managing social media content across multiple platforms.

·         Eye for visual design and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar.

·         Basic photography and video capture & editing skills for social media and promotional use.

·         Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

·         Comfortable working indoors and outdoors throughout the year.

Recommended

·         Experience using website content management systems and knowledge of basic SEO principles.

·         Familiarity with Google Ads & Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and email marketing tools.

·         Experience designing print-ready materials including posters, signage, brochures, and maps.

·         Experience supporting events, community activations, or sponsorship programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

·         Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday shifts during peak operational periods or special events.

·         Primarily office-based with periodic outdoor work for photography, surveys, events, and promotional activities.

·         Variable hours including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs.

·         Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items up to 35 pounds.

HEALTH & SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

·         Extended periods of desk and computer work, with potential for musculoskeletal strain or eye fatigue.

·         Occasional exposure to cold, heat, or varying weather conditions.

·         Potential for slips, trips, lifting-related strain, or minor physical hazards during event setup or other tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of post-secondary education in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or another discipline related to a Marketing role, plus experience within the field is preferred. Education or experience in Graphic Design is also preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training will be considered.

 

A Police Information Check is required for this position.
