Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commissioning process on various in-house small to medium-sized projects.

  • Perform commissioning design reviews, submittal reviews, and closeout document reviews.

  • Create pre-functional and functional checklists, as well as commissioning plans.

  • Conduct commissioning meetings and manage the commissioning process for assigned projects.

  • Perform field observations and functional testing.

  • Document and track test results using issue resolution logs.

  • Prepare commissioning deliverables, including final commissioning reports.

  • Assist in the review and development of staff training and continuing education opportunities.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Project Manager of Commissioning.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eight (8) years of full-time, paid professional experience in commissioning.

  • Strong working knowledge of building codes, CHPS, and commissioning requirements.

  • ANSI commissioning certification (CxA, CxT, BCxP, or Certified Commissioning Professional).

  • Extensive knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering, architecture, or construction management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in design or construction management with a focus on mechanical systems.

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or a valid California Professional Engineering License.

  • Industry-recognized energy management certification.
