Field Service Technician

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for a variety of generators, pumps and related equipment across Nova Scotia. As the Service Field Technician- Generator, you are responsible for:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment associated with generators
- Inspect and test generator systems to ensure proper operation
- Inspect and maintain electrical systems including connections, wiring, and components
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generators
- Perform scheduled maintenance inspections, lubrication, and adjustments
- Monitor and adjust fuel/air ratio to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor and adjust voltage regulator settings to ensure optimal performance
- Install and/or replace generator parts and components
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generator control systems
- Make recommendations and perform repairs as necessary
- Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ensure safety and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
You have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
- Excellent problem-solving skill
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have clean driver's abstract
- Must be able to pass a background check
