DCSM Operator
Digital Confined Space Monitoring (DCSM) – Operator
The DCSM Operator position combines the health, safety, and operations knowledge and experience of confined space attendants with digital, connected technologies that enhance communications and increase the visibility of the status of confined space entrants.
The DCSM Operator role consists of two distinct roles in one:
Monitoring
You will monitor the safety of workers in confined spaces from a monitoring station through the use of live HD video feeds, direct intercom communications, continuous gas detection, and a digital access control tracking system. You will initiate emergency response as required and ensure the safety of workers at all times.
Field Support/Roving
You will install, inspect, and maintain DCSM equipment such as cameras, intercoms, alarms, and gas detection. While fulfilling the roving duties, you will be the boots on the ground support for the monitoring
operator and the liaison between the technology and the workers in the confined spaces. You will enter confined spaces, so understanding hazard assessment and the scope of work in the vessel is a vital part of your duties.
You and a partner will switch between the monitoring and roving duties on a set rotation throughout the workday.
