What You’ll Do
- Lead full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for Zen’s residential portfolio
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of property accountants
- Review and approve financial reports, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with RECA regulations and serve as lead during audits
- Support property transitions (onboarding/offboarding) from a financial perspective
- Act as a key resource for financial inquiries from property owners and internal teams
- Maintain and improve accounting controls, policies, and procedures in line with GAAP
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit documentation
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Drive improvements in accounting systems, processes, and reporting efficiency
- Partner cross-functionally with Property Management, Asset Management, and Executive teams
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CPA designation (or equivalent) strongly preferred
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in residential property management
- Expertise in property management software such as Yardi, Buildium, or similar
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and process ownership
- Proven leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
