We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Director of Facilities and Procurement.  Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position works to ensure the smooth operation of the building, the building systems, and the facility in support of the activities, objectives and goals of CCNM including day-to-day operation, as well as planning for the future requirements of the Toronto site. This position will also assist in managing the Facilities portion of the Boucher site. Additionally, it involves managing the Residence, balancing the residents’ living requirements along with striving for full occupancy and managing the Procurement function including college wide contracts and the purchasing system.

Some of the responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develops, communicates, and administers building policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Coordinates space development and reassignment projects, plans for repairs, renovations, and improvements, and manages city planning and zoning-related matters.
  • Ensures the implementation of CCNM’s health and safety awareness program, oversees security services, and liaises with emergency services.
  • Oversees strategic residence recruitment to maximize occupancy and collaborates with the Residence Coordinator on budget planning and student concerns.
  • Oversees procurement, vendor negotiations, large purchases, and promotes environmentally friendly products while ensuring cost efficiency and compliance.
  • Provides leadership to key managers and staff, monitors service quality, manages performance, and ensures a strong customer-service focus.
  • Develops and updates departmental projects, monitors progress, secures resources, and manages the department budget, including long-term financial planning.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Post-secondary designation in property management or diploma/degree engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in property management of a large site; supervisory experience required
  • Demonstrated understanding of security, HVAC, building maintenance, waste removal, grounds maintenance and WHMIS
  • Good understanding of real-estate related regulations, by-laws, laws, understanding of zoning process and the related processes and proceedings
  • Understanding of environmentally sound principles and practices used in building maintenance
  • Experience working with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) in addition to familiarity with a property management application
  • Proven ability to maintain organized information systems for projects and/or department including records management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills – able to prioritize assignments and assist more junior employees as required
  • Extremely organized, with a strong attention to detail and superior multi-tasking skills
