Country Store Clerk / Resort Janitor (Split Role)

We are presently looking for our next great team member as a Country Store Clerk/Resort Janitor to join our Resort team. This is a split role with 3 days working in our Country Store and 2 days working as a Resort Janitor. If you can provide our guests with an amazing experience, combined with working as an energetic part of our resort, we want to hear from you!

Wage: Country Store - $18.50/h / Janitor - $19.00/h

Country Store Clerk’s responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Provide exceptional customer service and assist guests with purchases and inquiries

* Accurately process sales transactions and handle cash to ensure balanced tills

* Answer customer questions and provide product recommendations

* Sell age-restricted products, including alcohol, in compliance with applicable regulations

* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe retail environment

* Restock shelves and merchandise retail products

* Receive, price, and display new inventory

* Assist with inventory counts and ordering of food, beverage, and souvenir items

* Support other resort departments as required to meet seasonal operational needs

* Other tasks as required within MPR.

Resort Janitor’s responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Ensure the lodge, Loon Lagoon (pool & fitness facility), restaurant, banquet rooms, washrooms and hallways are cleaned to a high standard daily.

* General cleaning of offices, public areas including; vacuuming/sweeping/mopping/dusting/ sanitizing walkways and stairways, dusting and wiping down high touch surfaces, washing windows, removing garbage

* Perform general outdoor cleaning duties, including snow removal from building entrances in the winter.

* Clean rooms, cabins, & chalets to a high standard and within time given. This includes stripping and making beds, cleaning the bathrooms, cleaning the kitchens & living areas, and removing all garbage from inside and outside areas.

* Complete all guest requests in a timely manner

* Follow safety protocols, including adherence to hygiene and cleanliness standards

* Deliver additional linens & guest amenities to accommodations

* Assist other departments with general duties around the resort 

Qualifications & Requirements

* Must be 19 years of age or older (legal requirement to sell alcohol)

* Must possess or willingness to obtain Serving It Right certification

* Must possess a full driver’s license

* Responsible, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team

* Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and twisting

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

* Previous retail, customer service, and cash-handling experience is an asset

This is a seasonal position with an immediate start. There will be an opportunity to transfer to a permanent position at the end of the season, for the right candidate.
