Store Manager

THE ROLE

The Root Cellar is a bustling, family-owned market with a big heart and an even bigger commitment to fresh and local food. We’re looking for a Store Manager to join our leadership team, someone who thrives in a fast-paced grocery environment and is passionate about people, food, and community.

Reporting directly to the Retail Operations Manager, the Store Manager leads a collaborative leadership team to drive store profitability and operational excellence. This role oversees Gross Margin, Payroll, Inventory Management, and Loss Control, while ensuring an exceptional customer experience and a vibrant workplace culture. You’ll monitor financial performance, manage resources efficiently, develop and mentor your team, and create a shopping environment that delights customers every day. Beyond the numbers, you’ll bring a passion for integrity, sustainability, innovation, and positivity—always choosing what is right, not what is easy.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• 2+ years of leadership experience in grocery, retail or other related experience supervising people..
• A strong business sense with a proven track record in operations, sales, and profitability.
• A talent for building and inspiring teams that thrive.
• A combination of education and experience, which might include a diploma or a degree.
• Proficiency with MS Office, GSuite, and general aptitude for learning new systems.
