Wound Care Physician

Overview
We are seeking dedicated and skilled physicians to join our wound care team covering OKC Metro, Tulsa Metro or southern Oklahoma. The ideal candidates will provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including long term care, skilled nursing facilities and at-home patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work collaboratively within healthcare teams and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care. No nights and weekends. Active Oklahoma medical license required.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and comprehensive health assessments for patients presenting with wounds
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the latest clinical guidelines and best practices
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as imaging studies and laboratory tests to aid in diagnosis
- Perform wound care procedures, including dressing changes, debridement and wound closure techniques
- Prescribe appropriate medications, including antibiotics and pain management therapies
- Collaborate with other physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure coordination of patient care
- Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and caregivers about health conditions, treatment options and self-care strategies to promote healing
- Active involvement in utilization management in order to optimize patient outcomes and ensure effective use of resources
- Manage discharge planning for patients transitioning from hospital to home or other care settings
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution and a valid medical license to practice in the state of Oklahoma.
- Proficiency and/or certification in the provision of wound care and wound care management
- Excellent clinical assessment skills with the ability to perform necessary procedures
- Strong communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
