Wound Care experience required

This position requires an organized, detail-oriented individual with knowledge of prevention and treatment of wounds and the leadership qualities to supervise wound care.

The ideal candidate will be professional, dependable and self-motivated.

Customary Duties:

• Responsible for management of preventative wound program and wound treatment programs
• Ensures accuracy in documentation and information provided to physicians, residents and their responsible parties
• Complete the weekly wound analysis report.
• Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies.
• Is a resource person for physicians wound team and clinical staff.
• Conduct wound rounds weekly and provide report to the Director of Nursing

Requirements:

• Registered Nursing in New York – 3-5 years’ experience
• Wound Certification is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1-year experience in Wound Care at a SNF
• Basic knowledge regarding the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, arterial, venous and diabetic wounds as well as other wounds such as surgical wounds
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Flexible and dependable
• Able to work independently & efficiently
• Familiar with Electronic Medical Records (Sigma Care)
• Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
• Participates in the performance improvement plan of the organization.

Pay: $58.00 - 65.00 per hour
