Workers' Compensation Coordinator - AVALA Spine - Full-Time
Summary
The Workers’ Compensation Coordinator supports injured workers through scheduling, authorizations, and care coordination. This role ensures clear communication between patients, providers, adjusters, and case managers while maintaining accurate documentation and smooth clinic workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Intake & Documentation
• Enter patient demographics, claim details, and billing information accurately.
• Gather and upload medical records and injury-related documentation.
• Provide pre-registration instructions and clinic information to patients and WC partners.
Scheduling & Care Coordination
• Schedule WC appointments based on provider availability and patient needs.
• Track patient status and ensure appointments align with treatment plans.
• Coordinate approved services with imaging centers, PT clinics, and specialists.
Authorization Management
• Submit prior authorizations for ordered services, procedures, and office visits.
• Include required documentation and work status reports.
• Follow up with adjusters/case managers and submit appeals when needed.
Communication & Case Support
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, adjusters, nurse case managers, and attorneys.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of all communications and case updates.
• Support cross department workflows and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
• Prior healthcare experience required, WC or authorization experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to navigate EMRs, scheduling systems, and Windows based applications.
• High attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
