Job Title: EMT-B Work Study Program
Job Summary:
The EMT-B Work Study Program provides hands-on experience for students pursuing certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (Basic). Under the supervision of experienced EMTs and paramedics, participants will assist in delivering medical care, responding to calls, and ensuring patient safety during transportation. This program is designed to offer students a combination of paid work experience and academic learning in a real-world emergency medical services (EMS) environment.
Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in providing basic life support (BLS) care in medical situations.

- Respond to calls and provide appropriate pre-hospital care.

- Assist with patient assessment, including checking vital signs, managing airways, and bandaging wounds.

- Help in transporting patients safely to healthcare facilities.

- Maintain and stock EMS equipment and supplies in ambulances and facilities.

- Complete required documentation for patient care reports.

- Assist EMT and paramedic staff in preparing and restocking the ambulance after calls.

- Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities as part of the work-study program.

- Adhere to company policies, protocols, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:

- CPR certification (will train if not current).

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (preferred).

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Work Schedule:

- Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, four paid working days and one non-paid clinical day per week.

- Upon certification being obtained, work hours could be subject to change based on position placement within Phoenix.
