Wellness Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Wellness Coordinator position supports the work of the YMCA of Collier County, Inc., a leading not-for-profit organization committed to strengthening the communities in Collier County through its core focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the growth and success of the Healthy Living Department and its programs and services, with an emphasis on Healthy Aging, Group and Individual Wellness/Fitness programs, Senior Activities, and Community Health. This position is a coach, leader, instructor, personal trainer, mentor, and supervisor to all staff in the Healthy Living Department. The individual is responsible for upholding service and engagement in best practices by developing their teams, while aggressively expanding the Y’s impact through revenue-generating programs. In addition, the Coordinator will be responsible for auditing, training, and evaluating staff as well as ensuring that all safety and risk management procedures are followed for the YMCA of Collier County.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises Healthy Living Coaches, Group Exercise Instructors and Personal Trainers, including hiring, developing, coaching, evaluating, managing performance, etc. along with coordinating schedules shifts, classes, and personal training appointments.
Development and implementation of the organization’s HIPAA Fraud and Abuse compliance policies and procedures (“Compliance Program”).
Responsible for logging duties performed during shift and providing weekly reports on progress along with statistics on programs.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with public health, physician communities and other referral networks to enhance awareness of programs and increase referrals.
Respond to inquiries from the general public and members of public health & physician communities about programs.
Maintain areas and equipment of responsibility to ensure areas are clean, safe and equipment is in working condition.
Implement and create classes according to the needs of the community and have oversight of all activities scheduled in gymnasium.
Monitoring program reports (financial and participation) to ensure all proper paperwork is up to date especially with fees paid and waivers signed.
Monitors and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Secures and schedules facilities. Transports and sets up equipment for programs; monitors and purchases necessary equipment with supervisor approval as budget permits.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations related to areas of responsibility. Work with and develop joint programming with CHP, David Lawrence Center and other community partners.
Assists in YMCA organizational fund-raising activities and special events. Must attend and assist with two a year.
Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Assists with Program Committee meetings and other meetings as required.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and participation of programs.
Explore and utilize modules within Daxko for program effectiveness.
Other duties as requested by management.
Meets all program enrollment, retention and quality benchmarks by marketing and promoting the Personal and Small Group Training Programs.
Provide leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or equivalent field.
Minimum of 5 years of proven success in a supervisory role and program management in the health and fitness industry, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience.
Current CPR certification.
Group Exercise and Wellness Coaching Certifications.
PT Certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NFPT, NSCA, NCSF)
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to promote the Y to the community and within programs and understand the YMCA mission and purpose as a cause-driven movement.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
