Welder/Fabricator/CNC Plasma Table Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator/CNC Plasma Table Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components according to specifications, setting up and operating the CNC plasma cutting table, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks using MIG welding techniques.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding process and materials.

• Set up and operate welding equipment, including welding machines, grinders, and cutting tools.

• Program and operate the plasma cutter.

• Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the plasma cutting machine while maintaining an organized workspace.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and procedures.

• Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures in place for defective products.

• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator, with a strong understanding of welding techniques and processes.

• Experience with operating a CNC Plasma Cutter is required.

• Ability to read and follow plans and specifications to set up the machine and cutting process (Plasma/Oxy-Fuel) correctly.

• Proficiency in using MIG welding equipment and tools.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to welding and fabrication.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Certification in welding or fabrication is preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in welding and fabrication.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a typical shop environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.  Power tools are frequently used.  The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.

• Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, bending, and kneeling.

• Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 

• Ability to frequently move up to 25 pounds and occasionally life and move objects up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work in a noisy and physically demanding environment.
