Welder (Structural/Pipe) - Marine Construction
Summary Description: The basic function of a Welder (Structural / Pipe) is to weld carbon steel using various welding techniques, tools, and processes.
Worksite Location(s): Most of our work is performed at remote worksites along the Mississippi River, south of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, or at our own yard in Harvey, Louisiana, but we sometimes operate in other geographical areas.
Company Description: Stewart Construction, LLC provides a wide variety of industrial and marine construction services, including the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of docks, wharfs, pilings, dolphins, fender systems, coffer dams, intake and outtake systems, ship and barge material handling systems, and other, similar systems and structures, as well as demolition and removal services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 18+ years of age.
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Ability to enroll in the DISA program.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to travel to remote worksites on a regular and ongoing basis.
- Must pass a drug-screen.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Must pass a fit-for-duty examination.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding certification from AWS (American Welding Society) with a D.1.1 (Structural Steel) endorsement, or its equivalent.
- 1+ years of welding experience (preferably in marine construction).
- 1+ years of experience working on or by the water (preferably the lower Mississippi River).
