Website Merchandiser - Design Industry

This is a remote role Full-time $50000.00-$60000.00/year

LightForm has an exciting career opportunity for digitally savvy design professionals as a Website Merchandiser for its growing e-commerce website. This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated and creative self-starter looking to join a company building its digital marketing team and growing exponentially. Prior experience working with lighting and/or in the interior design profession, coupled with online retail experience would be an asset. We are looking for a bright, attentive, and caring team player who has a keen understanding of the lighting/design industry and a passion for marketing. 


Big picture goals include helping to make LightFormShop.com a top-of-mind resource for Canada’s design professionals and enthusiasts. You’ll do this by working with the team to ensure the information on the site is accurate, thorough and by merchandising thousands of products to create curated collections that inspire and excite. 


You will succeed in this role if you possess these qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree: A bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or design or a related field

  • Marketing mind: You’re always in the headspace of the customer

  • Analytical: You can break down complex information into simple output that is easy to understand and make data-driven decisions

  • Visual storyteller: You have the vision to take any subject matter interesting, relevant, and visually stunning

  • Resourceful: You don’t have all the answers, but you know how to get them

  • Quality control: You self-edit and submit only your best work

  • Proactive: You are never idle and love being busy

  • Project manager: If a task is assigned to you, you take complete ownership over it

  • “No job is too big or too small†mentality

  • Positive attitude: We have a great culture and want to preserve it

  • Skills: have a background in design and online retailing 

  • Tech savvy: Comfortable with both Microsoft/Mac Office Suites and are not afraid of the unknown


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Curating online collections based on styles, trends, features, themes, strategic priorities, etc.

  • Reviewing new items to ensure accuracy of information, images, and page functionality

  • Updating featured products and display hierarchies on a weekly basis

  • Reviewing and compiling assets to create brand pages and designer pages

  • Coordinating with sales and social media teams to obtain project photos and creating project pages 

  • Supporting graphic design by creating graphics for web pages  

  • Staying up to date with LightForm manufacturing partners (new collections, product specifications, etc.)

  • Staying up to date with design and lighting industry developments and trends

  • Participating in Product Knowledge training sessions 

  • Writing: updating product descriptions for clarity

  • Providing suggestions, ideas, input for marketing newsletters (new products, collections, etc.)

  • Working with Web Content team to implement new website processes and automations

  • Troubleshooting website functionalities 

  • Communicating with lighting manufacturers to clarify product details

  • Maintaining accurate procedural documentation for tasks related to role

  • Supporting LightForm Marketing Team as needed
