Web Development Associate
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Web Development Associate will work collaboratively with the Web Development Manager and the rest of the Web Development Team to design, develop, and maintain web applications. The successful candidate has a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Web Development Associate will report to the Web Development Manager and contribute to the successful delivery of web development projects.
WAGE: $18 per hour
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: May 11th, 2026 – August 28th, 2026
LOCATION: Hybrid
APPLICATION TIMELINE: Interviews will begin after February 17th, 2026. This posting will remain open until the position is filled.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively as a member of the web development team to design and develop web applications that meet client requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Collaborate as a member of the web development team to design web applications from prototyping to implementation.
Collaborate with small to medium-sized businesses to understand their unique web development needs and objectives, providing guidance and customized solutions to help them achieve their online goals effectively and efficiently.
Manage client relationships by participating in meetings and discussions with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and feedback.
Execute client-suggested changes to improve satisfaction and service quality.
Take direction from the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with web applications.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
Attend daily standup meetings with team members.
Complete self-directed online courses.
Participate in soft skills workshops.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Hybrid work environment. There will be days that the Associate must attend our Beamsville office.
Mandatory attendance is required for technical and soft skills workshops
PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES / SOFTWARE USED:
HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, Figma, Strapi, VS Code, Git/GitHub, Webflow, Shopify.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Willingness to learn.
Must respect the learning environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The YSS is an integrated learning environment, and no prior experience is required, however, knowledge of the following is beneficial.
Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Background in computer science or a related field.
Some exposure to web development technologies, such as HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
Experience with a front-end JavaScript framework like React, Angular or Vue
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Civiconnect receives government funding based on certain eligibility requirements. Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:
Must be between 18-29 years of age.
Must be enrolled in part-time or full-time studies at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Must be able to work full-time for a duration of 16 weeks.
