Water Slide Attendant - Thomas E. Hannah Branch
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the water slide attendant is responsible for the supervision and personal safety of every individual using the pools and surrounding areas. The waterslide attendant must communicate with patrons and lifeguards regarding the proper use of the waterslide. Hours to be 4 - 10 per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Waterslide candidates must be 16 years old.

Prefer certified YMCA and/or American Red Cross Lifeguard with First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Become certified in Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED within 30 days of employment

Must be able to climb a flight of 20 stairs and sit for extended periods of time in an environment with high temperature and humidity
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a safe pool environment.

Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the pool, deck, storage, and surrounding areas.

Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Know and be able to communicate all slide safety rules.

Report for duty on time and be prepared to assist patrons.

Maintain an orderly line of patrons awaiting use of the waterslide.

Know and practice all emergency action plans and procedures.

Secure a substitute in the event of illness or emergency and notify the Aquatics Director.

Engage in positive public relations with members and participants.

Refrain from eating, reading, talking, or texting on cell phones while on duty.

Perform additional tasks delegated by the Aquatics Director for the overall benefit of the Aquatics Department and YMCA.
