The position requires excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, along with the ability to support the F&B experience at PSSC. This is a full-time position required to work at the property. This position requires non-traditional working hours which includes working nights and weekends and holidays.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Water Quality Technician to join our team at The Palm Springs Surf Club. As a Water Quality Technician, you will play a vital role in monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining the quality of water sources, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and environmental requirements. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will contribute to the preservation and improvement of water resources for our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect water samples from various sources, including rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and treatment plants, following established protocols.

  • Conduct on-site tests to measure water quality parameters such as pH, temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and chemical levels.

  • Interpret and analyze data obtained from tests to assess water quality and identify any deviations from established standards.

  • Monitor and track changes in water quality over time and across different locations.

  • Identify potential sources of contamination and assist in developing strategies to mitigate risks.

  • Maintain accurate records of all sampling and testing activities, recording data, observations, and test results.

  • Calibrate and maintain testing equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of water quality monitoring programs.

  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing testing results and findings for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in field investigations to assess the impact of pollution events or environmental changes on water quality.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in water quality testing methodologies.

  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines while working in various field conditions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive data collection and analysis.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred.

  • Previous experience in water quality monitoring, environmental testing, or related roles is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with water quality regulations and standards set by relevant authorities.

  • Proficiency in operating water quality testing equipment and software.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting data.

  • Effective communication skills to present findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.

· Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.

· Continuous repetitive motions.

· Work in cold, dry, hot, humid, and noisy environments.
