Parcel Utility/Boxmaker

Job Description

Summary:

This position is responsible for running the boxmaker machines to construct the boxes needed for shipping products out to various customers/vendors/departments. This position is also responsible for helping to load trailers, sourcing the parcel pack stations, daily cleanup of the parcel area and maintaining the box making equipment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Makes custom shipping boxes per shipping department requests for customer orders.

Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains Packsize box making machines per SOP and safety guidelines.

Performs preventative maintenance on machines on a daily/weekly basis.

Ensures adequate stocking box supply for the Parcel/LTL, and Fabrication departments.

Takes used/scrap cardboard to balers, baling daily.

Unloads parcel department rollers onto the UPS trailer as requested during the day.

Stocks parcel pack stations during the day as needed to prevent run outs.

Stocks any parcel supplies stored in annex.

Efficient, safe operation of forklift equipment to keep cardboard & supplies racks full.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma, or GED equivalent needed. Any further education/experience in the warehousing area preferred.

Must maintain a positive attitude, with a customer service focus in a fast-paced work environment.

Use of forklift trucks & order pickers experience needed. Certification required.

Should possess ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.

Should be detail-oriented, focused, driven, and a self-starter.

Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Any maintenance or mechanical knowledge a plus.

Mon-Fri, Day Shift

Working Conditions:

Job will include periods of standing, walking, reaching, stooping/kneeling, and bending. Stair climbing and walking on uneven surfaces will also be present. Subject to heat/cold conditions in warehouse conditions. Moderate use of hands and arms will be needed.  May be required to lift to 50 lbs. by self, or team lift to 100 lbs. Use of mechanical lifts required for heavier orders. Will be required to operated warehouse machinery such as forklifts and pickers as needed.
