Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join our team at our Saskatoon location.

  

What You Will Do:


  • The successful candidate will be a leader in our heavy-duty repair operations while providing exceptional customer service
  • Manage a team of 8-10 heavy-duty mechanics and support staff through coaching, mentoring, training, scheduling, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee operations in the service shop to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and conduct spot checks of all jobs to ensure timely repairs, quality workmanship, and cleanliness.
  • Contact key individuals at top service accounts, key branch accounts, and company accounts
  • Keep up to date with all vendor updates, warranty policies, and product changes
  • Engage with service shop customers, review open work orders, and successfully resolve outstanding issues.
  • Find new opportunities for sales of new and existing products
  • Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Champion FGI's safety culture by performing all duties within established procedures and practices
  • Other duties as assigned 


What We Require:


  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience as a Service Manager or a similar role in a similar industry preferred, combined with demonstrated exceptional customer service and mechanical knowledge
  • Previous experience managing a service shop in a COR-certified environment is an asset
  • Previous experience as a heavy-duty mechanic or journeyman mechanic is an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, Word, Excel) and ability to learn in-house systems
  • Must meet the physical requirements: Occasionally lift to 20 – 30lbs, frequent standing and walking, reading small print and numbers
  • Strong people management skills - you thrive on building successful teams

  • A team player with a no-excuses attitude - you do what it takes to get the job done right
  • Strong follow-up and accountability mindset - you don't let issues slide

  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail - accuracy and documentation are essential to success in this role
