Accountant

Based in South Louisiana, D&S Marine Service is a family owned and operated inland marine transportation company. We specialize in the movement of barges along the Lower Mississippi River and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. With our growing fleet of tow boats, we have set the bar with our unwavering commitment to quality, performance and exceptional customer service since 2005.

Accountant job duties include but not limited to: 

• Process purchase orders and invoices
• Enter physical inventory counts
• Reconcile and record credit card charges
• Set up and maintain vendor accounts 
• Compile claims invoices for submission to insurance underwriters
• Cross-train with the Purchasing Agent and Senior Accountant
• Assist with additional accounting projects as needed 
• Adhere to and comply with company policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, but not required
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively with others
