Warehouse Associate

Job description

A Warehouse Associate's primary duties include counting products, stocking products in the warehouse, pulling orders, building order pallets, loading and unloading trucks in addition to any tasks assigned by management. Such tasks include but are not limited to:

• Preparing orders for shipping
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks
• Maintain delivery schedule
• Place inventory in proper locations
• Operate and maintain power equipment in a safe way, utilizing daily checklists
• Earn and maintain proper fork truck licenses
• Keep workspace neat, cleaned and organized throughout the shift
• Assist in warehouse security measures
• Perform related duties as assigned by management
• Immediate reporting of incidents to Human Resources.
• Maintain follow all related policy and procedures for warehouse operation
• Maintain safety standards in the Warehouse according to OSHA standards.
• Immediately clean up, secure, or block off safety hazards as they become apparent, and notify management
• Prior to the end of day departure, verifying cleanliness and all lights and equipment are not energized and all equipment is returned to its storage location.
• Organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
• Requirement to take lunch break at time deemed required by General.
• Requirement for overtime is only authorized in writing expressly by General Manager approval.

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. on an occasional to frequent basis.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand/move/bend/lift/bag/reach for prolonged periods of time (up to 8+ hrs per shift).
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and attention to detail.
• Ability to take direction from supervisors and implement plans set forth that may change on a daily basis based on the needs of the store and General Manager requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full-Time position, 35- 40+ hours a week per a set schedule M-F 8:00 am -4:00 pm with 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Overtime may be required as needed and authorized by management.
• In the winter certain areas of the store may be cold (in some cases below 30 degrees) working environment during the winter months and hot in the summer months (in some cases above 90 degrees); appropriate attire for working conditions is required. See dress code in Employee Handbook.
• Physical ability to lift upwards of 50 lbs. at any given time
