The Volunteer Opportunity
This position is responsible for assisting in the running of our Kids in the Kitchen program. The Kids in the Kitchen program is designed to teach children essential cooking skills, healthy eating habits, and kitchen safety. Through hands-on experience, kids will learn how to prepare simple and nutritious meals while developing confidence and independence in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Program delivery: Responsible for assisting in the delivery of the Kids in the Kitchen program and provide participants with a safe, inclusive, positive environment. Program facilitation is in keeping with established outcomes/objectives, in addition to YMCA quality and child safeguarding standards, and provincial regulations.
- Program delivery Includes: program set-up/take down, preparation of materials, and assisting with program facilitation
- Leading by example and forming positive relationships with youth within the program through supervision and mentorship.
- Ensure the safety of youth in the program by following proper child safeguarding procedures.
Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, clear Child Abuse Registry Check, and valid First Aid and CPR training. We look forward to hearing from you!
