Vandebilt Catholic High School Athletic Director
POSITION SUMMARY
Vandebilt Catholic High School, a diocesan coeducational institution serving grades 8–12, seeks a faith-filled, experienced, and mission-driven Athletic Director. This individual will oversee all aspects of the school’s athletic programs, ensuring they reflect the mission of Vandebilt Catholic and the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Athletic Director will lead the development of student-athletes in mind, body, and spirit while ensuring excellence, compliance, and integrity in all athletic endeavors under the guidelines of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA).
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
• Provide visionary leadership and oversight of all athletic programs in alignment with the Catholic
mission of Vandebilt Catholic High School.
• Hire, supervise, evaluate, and support all coaching staff, ensuring programs promote
sportsmanship, academic achievement, and spiritual development.
• Ensure all athletic programs are compliant with LHSAA regulations and Diocesan policies.
• Develop and manage the athletic department budget, including oversight of equipment, uniforms,
facilities, and transportation.
• Oversee the scheduling of practices, games, officials, and team travel logistics.
• Oversee maintenance athletic facilities in collaboration with school administration and facilities
personnel.
• Lead initiatives that foster community engagement and support for athletics, including booster
• involvement and fundraising.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and disciplined environment consistent with Catholic values and the
expectations of the school.
• Actively participate in the spiritual and faith life of the school community.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related leadership roles.
• Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, as well as knowledge of (or
passion for learning) the Charism of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of LHSAA rules and regulations.
• Practicing Catholic preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Includes evening and weekend work to support athletic events.
• Occasional travel required for competitions.
• Role requires visibility and active involvement in the life of the school and parish community.
