Upper School Guidance Plan Interventionist
General Purpose: The Guidance Plan Interventionist serves as a member of the Upper School Guidance Team. The Guidance Plan Interventionist (GPI) will monitor study halls, work with the counselors to implement guidance plans, and assist in providing multi-tiered support for students.
This role is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position during the school year.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Monitor Study Halls:
- Supervise study halls each period, maintaining accurate attendance and a productive, controlled learning environment
- Supervise 8th-hour periods after school as needed
- Monitor student progress to ensure work is being turned in
- Identify students at risk for academic, spiritual, or social concerns
Implement Guidance Plans:
- Work with the guidance counselors to provide support for students with missing work or on academic probation
- Build executive functioning and self-advocacy skills in students
- Assist students in acquiring healthy study skills and productive educational rhythms
- Monitor student work using our online student management system, Veracross
- Monitor intervention strategies with students on the Guidance caseload
Liaise with Teachers and Families:
- Serve as a member of the Student Support Team, attending weekly meetings to discuss student needs
- Partner with parents and students to create achievable academic work plans
- Liaise with coaches of any athletes who are on academic probation
- Promote positive relationships between students and teachers
Other:
- Serve as a Connect Group (mentor group) leader for students
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Training, Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in a high school
- Experience working in a Christian school and/or special education preferred
- Experience working with Veracross as a student information system a plus

Working Conditions:
- This role requires computer work.
- This role requires movement between buildings, which may include working in outdoor weather conditions.
- This role requires frequent exposure to regular levels of student hallway and classroom noise, and it may require a raised voice to be heard in these situations.
